£12m Derby office scheme put on hold

Developers behind a major office scheme in Derby appear no closer to starting building work after applying to continue using the site as a temporary car park. (Sourced from Derby Cityscape.)
 
Chesterfield company Bolsterstone wants to build a £12m office complex on the former Sixt Kenning vehicle hire site, in Cathedral Road.

But it has held off creating what would be known as Central Square until it has tenants lined up because of fears of being hit by Empty Property Rates.

And while it continues to seek a client, the company has been using the land in Cathedral Road as a temporary car park for about the last eight months. Now, Bolsterstone has applied to Derby City Council for permission to continue using the land as a car park for another year.
