AN AWARD-WINNING Wirksworth architects firm is in the running for another prestigious accolade. (Sourced from Matlock Mercury.)
Derek Trowell Architects, based at Greenhill, has been shortlisted for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) East Midlands Awards which will be announced in the autumn.
The company's project, a single storey house off Crow Lane in Unstone, built using sustainable techniques, has been selected. The property cost £190,000, including all fittings and fixtures and landscaping. It has high levels of thermal insulation and glulam beams to support the roof, which are more sustainable than steel.
The firm won the award three years ago for the SureStart building in Rosehill, Derby, which also picked up an award for Derby's best recent regeneration project under £10million pounds.
