Derby hat-trick

The city of Derby is celebrating a trio of award victories, highlighting the quality of the regeneration projects taking place in the city.

The Roundhouse development at Derby College and the footbridge in Cathedral Green were both singled out at recent awards ceremonies.

A large collection of regeneration and property professionals saw the Roundhouse scoop two awards at the Constructing Excellence East Midland Regional Awards 2009.

The project collected two of the most coveted gongs on the night, taking the Heritage Award and the Project of the Year Award, which was sponsored by Nottingham Trent University.

Meanwhile, at the British Constructing Industry (BIC) Awards 2009, Cathedral Green’s footbridge fought off competition from 170 other projects to win the Small Civil Engineering Project Award 2009.

URC Derby Cityscape has stated its delight at these successes, applauding the efforts and contributions made by all the people involved in both projects.
