City of the future

Rolls-Royce chief executive Sir John Rose calls on the UK to turn its urban centres into hubs for wealth creation.(Sourced from Financial Times.)
Britain, he says, has “more than one city” that should aim to join a network of successful “world cities”. Which ones?
In the past, he has been a vocal backer of one place in particular, extolling its manufacturing skills (which it puts at the service of local employers, eg Rolls-Royce), self-confidence and pride in itself. Forget Delhi or Dubai, it’s evidently time for Derby to take its rightful place on the world stage.
