Derby's biggest letting for a decade secured

Derby’s largest city centre office letting for more than ten years has been completed.

NHS Derby City took a lease on 3,000sq m of accommodation at Nurton Developments’ Cardinal Square.

The deal sees Derby’s Primary Care Trust consolidate a number of locations into one central site as part of the PCT’s non-clinical estates rationalisation programme.

The Trust has signed a seven-year lease on three floors in East Point and two floors in North Point as part of a major public sector consolidation.

It also has an option to take additional accommodation during the next few months, which could raise its occupancy to just over 4,600 sq m.

Russell Rigby of Rigby & Co, joint letting agents with Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “Both Nurton and the NHS worked ferociously hard in a very short period of time to make sure this deal happened.

“It has certainly given the office market in Derby added momentum to kick-start what we hope will be an encouraging year.”
