The second phase of the redevelopment of Derby's railway station has taken a step forward with the submission of plans for a multi-storey car park.

The first part of the station's £2m changes included a new layout for buses and taxis at the front of the station with bus stops, a 32-space taxi rank, more cycle parking, dedicated space for cars to drop passengers off and specific areas for Blue Badge holders.
Now plans for a 525-space multi-storey car park next to the station in Railway Terrace have been submitted to Derby City Council by urban regeneration company Derby Cityscape.
The applicants said they had taken into account the appearance of listed buildings in the area when drawing up plans and the design for building's facade.
