Derby takes Insider top spot

Rolls-Royce chief executive Sir John Rose has been nominated as the person wielding most power over the midlands regional economy according to the 2010 Business Insider magazine Power 100 list released this month.
 
The citation comments that Derby’s number one employer has helped the city build a reputation for excellence and has a massive impact on the regional economy.

Other Derby-based entrants include Peter Gadsby Chairman of Ark Capital at 13, described as the ‘biggest name on the East Midlands commercial property scene;’ Marketing Derby’s John Forkin at 41; EMDA’s Bryan Jackson (45); City Council CEO Adam Wilkinson (60); Nigel Rudd (63); John Kirkland (82) and James Blick from Finesse Hotels (99).

Adam Wilkinson enters the list after less than a year in Derby and is described as knowing regeneration ‘inside out’.
