Derby Homes was named runner-up in the recent National Federation of ALMOs (NFA) Awards, which contains 69 member organisations across England.
Derby Homes claimed second place in the Most Innovative Project of the Year Award, for its Home2Work Scheme, at the ceremony at Manchester's Midland Hotel.
Top spot was taken by Solihull Community Housing’s Fast Track Assessment Service, with Derby Homes sharing a special mention on the night with Salix Homes’ Customer Senate.
Annabelle Barwick, change manager (equalities) at Derby Homes, said: "We’re very pleased that the Home2Work Scheme has been recognised in this award.
"The scheme has produced real results and given participants experience and confidence to help them make the return to work."
Derby Homes' Home2Work provides a range of experiences to help tenants who have been unemployed for at least six months and give them the confidence and motivation they need to get back into permanent employment.
The four-week structured programme specialises in customer service and helps to develop transferable skills that can be used in a number of work settings.
